Back Story:
In 2018, I visited Japan with my family. There I encountered and learned about the story of Sadako, a Japanese girl with leukemia. Through out her treatment, Sadako's family continued to look after her. One day, her dad suggested she fold 1000 paper cranes so that her wish to be healed could be granted by the gods. In her story, she taught me that happiness could be spread through hope and encouragement. I was inspired by Sadako's message, and decided to use my passion of origami for more than just my enjoyment.
I chose the name "Bloom" because it reminds me of how encouragement can help a person grow. Project Blooms goal is to share joy with people through the art of origami. Each origami piece I fold and each message written reminds me of the people who encouraged and looked out for me. The creations I make continue to be a reminder that joy is meant to be shared with others.
